The Less Invasive Alternative in Florida
The latest in less invasive facelifting is now available at our
Tampa, Florida, center – FeatherLift. This is an exciting new,
relatively noninvasive surgical technique that lifts the face. Special
sutures are threaded through the skin of the cheek. As the sutures
are tightened, the face is lifted.
Besides the cosmetic advantages, FeatherLift offers several benefits.
The FeatherLift can be done under local or under twilight sedation.
Swelling and bruising are minimal. Recovery is relatively quick.

As we age, many of us inevitably end up with those unsightly little leg veins. Guess what? We have a laser that can treat those. Why not show off your legs without embarrassment? Now you can.
No shots are used. The blood in the veins absorbs the light from the laser and those tiny veins tend to disappear. Occasionally, you may experience some temporary bruising, though it will not restrict your activities.
Not only do we use the laser to zap veins on the legs, but also on the face. Those "telangiectasia" that appear on your nose, cheeks, and forehead can also be made to disappear with the laser.
To all those patients who suffer from rosacea, there is help for you now. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disorder. It usually begins in middle age or later. It is characterized by a red discoloration of the skin and is most common in a person with a fair complexion. Skin thickening, particularly of the nose, may result.
In the past, there were no good treatment options. Dr. Joshua Halpern employs the first FDA-approved laser for treating rosacea. Rosacea patients do not require any shots or pain pills when undergoing this treatment. A number of patients are surprised at how pain free and well tolerated the laser procedure is. THE LATEST AND MOST ADVANCED WAY TO FIGHT WRINKLES
Wrinkles, wrinkles, wrinkles - one of the first signs of aging.
Recently, a young woman (38 years old) came to Dr. Halpern's
office complaining of wrinkles around her eyes and lips. "I
look older than I feel," she said. She wanted something done,
but also said: "I don't want a lot of down time."
With the introduction of the Erbium Laser, facial laser resurfacing
has risen to another level. Facial resurfacing in the past meant
chemical peels, face lifts, and then CO2 laser resurfacing. The skin
usually took one to two weeks to heal and the skin looked red for
six to 12 weeks.
Laser skin resurfacing has evolved over the last number of years.
Currently, the Erbium Laser is being used to treat wrinkles. It is
especially superior in treating fine wrinkles in people who are
in their 30s, 40s, and early 50s. "The Erbium
Laser not only resurfaces the skin, but rejuvenates it," says
Dr. Halpern. "It not only helps to get rid of wrinkles, but
it helps to tighten, smooth, and improve the texture of the skin."
The skin usually heals in three to five days and the redness resolves
in about three weeks. Many patients are surprised how easy the recovery
time is. "I was not in pain, it just felt like a sunburn."
Dressings are not necessary and the patient applies an ointment
to the face. Dr. Halpern performs these treatments in the office
on an outpatient basis. Patients can return to their normal routine
almost immediately.
The Erbium Laser is also superior to the CO2 laser in treating
acne scars. A 32-year-old man who underwent the procedure
stated: This was the best thing I ever did for myself."
